About me
I am a research associate in John Pyle's group in the Centre for Atmospheric Science in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Cambridge. I have produced a 'nudged version' of the UKCA model, the new UK atmospheric chemistry-aerosol global model. The nudged version contains a module that nudges the model towards ERA-40 re-analysis data , allowing it to reproduce observed conditions. A description and evaluation of the nudged model can be found in ACPD here. I am now working to use this model to study various problems, including the atmospheric response to the eruption of Mount Pinatubo and the effect this had on chemistry. As well as studying the direct effects of changing the atmospheric conditions I am also working within the framework of QUEST to study the couplings between climate, chemistry and the whole Earth system.
