A new UGAMP-funded PDRA is expected to join the Meteorology Department in April to work on effects of the stratosphere in climate change. The process of selecting a suitable candidate is ongoing as this newsletter goes to press. Katrin Mueller will be arriving from Berlin in the spring on a 2-year EC-funded visit to study the tropical tropopause region. Meanwhile, Vicky West is planning to run the UM with a number of passive and active tracers with a view to characterising various features of the model's transport processes.
