Conference Details

This year's annual UGAMP conference will take place at Oxford University over 3 days; Weds. 10th July to Friday 12th July. The conference will be held in the lecture theatre of the Department of Nuclear Physics, which is in Keble Road. Posters will be on display outside the lecture theatre. Maps will be provided.

There will be a PIs meeting on Thursday 2pm to 3pm. The venue will be the conference room in the nuclear physics department (where tea/coffee will be served during the conference).

Accommodation

Accommodation, including breakfast, will be in Lady Margaret College. To get the key to your room, you should go to the College during the day of your arrival. There are no arrangements for lunch. Attendees will be expected to find their own.

Conference Dinner

The UGAMP conference dinner will be held on the evening of the Wednesday 10th July in Lady Margaret College at 8pm. The bar will be open from 7.30pm. Dress is informal.

Expenses

The cost of the UGAMP meeting, travel, accommodation, breakfast and the conference dinner will be met by the Centre for Global Atmospheric Modelling (CGAM), Reading, for all UGAMP and UGAMP-affiliated researchers.

UGAMP researchers can claim for the actual cost of meals up to a limit of £4 for lunches and £8 for dinner.

Where UGAMP groups have arranged coach travel to the meeting, CGAM will only pay for the coach and will not reimburse travel expenses for UGAMP researchers who do not use the coach (unless other arrangements have the approval of Alan O'Neill).

Any further queries about expenses and claims should be directed to Anne Pinnock at CGAM. Claim forms can also be obtained from Anne if your local site does not have any. Note that the forms changed recently (they should be green). The address for CGAM is: Anne Pinnock, CGAM, Dept. of Meteorology, University of Reading, 2 Earley Gate, Reading, RG6 6AU.

Parking and Travel

Parking in Oxford is just as difficult as it was for the conference last year in Cambridge. If at all possible you are advised to use public transport.

The Oxford City Circuit Electric Bus service runs every 10mins on Monday to Saturday between 8.30am and 6.30pm. Your rail tickets to and from Oxford are valid for free travel on the bus, otherwise the ticket costs 30p. The bus route is: railway station, Hythe Bridge St., George St. (Gloucester Green bus station), Broad St., Parks Rd. (stops outside Keble College), Bevington Rd., Woodstock Rd., St. Giles, George St. and back to the railway station.
