A first integration has been performed with the new UM (version 5.3), coupled to a tropospheric chemistry package. Results of this simulation reveal some encouraging success but also some remaining deficiencies. These will form the focus of continuing development. The figure below shows surface ozone at three maritime sites for which correspondence with climatology is excellent.
